How Old Is Your Cat

Cats are adolescents at 6 months to 1 year of age.

Middle aged cats are around 8 years of age.

Senior cats are 12 years and older.

The life span of a cat has doubled over the last fifty years. An inside cat who is healthy can expect to live around 15 to 20 years and sometimes longer. Advances in medicine, safety from traffic, dogs and other cats, safety from human cruelty, improvements in the quality of available food, have all attributed to these extra, special years. An inside cat also has less chance of contracting certain diseases and conditions.
